Let’s keep it simple. Here at Kisses & Kandles, we use soy wax and wooden wicks to provide longer burn times and better scent omissions. Kandle and Kissy Melt Ingredients:
100% pure essential oil blend (for fragrance)
Candle Dye (for color)
100% Soy Wax (no blends here!)
Wooden Wicks (for burning)
Why Soy Wax?: Soy wax is a natural and renewable resource made from soybean oil, making it an eco-friendly alternative to paraffin wax. Additionally, soy wax burns at a lower temperature, resulting in a longer burn time compared to paraffin candles. This type of wax also holds and releases fragrance more effectively, providing a more even and long-lasting scent experience. Another vital benefit of using soy wax is that it does not release known carcinogens like benzene or toluene when burned. Paraffin wax is derived from petroleum, and is one of the most affordable and widely available waxes, making it a popular choice for mass-producing candle companies….not us! Additionally, they have a shorter burn time due to their lower density. Soy wax all the way!!
Why Wooden Wicks?: Wooden candle wicks are considered a more eco-friendly and sustainable alternative to traditional cotton wicks. Sourced from natural wood, wooden wicks have a lower environmental impact compared to cotton wicks. Additionally, wooden wicks do not require a braided core, often found in cotton wicks, which may contain metal or other synthetic materials. Beyond sustainability, wooden wicks offer several performance advantages. They create a unique crackling sound when burned, mimicking the ambiance of a fireplace (yes, please!), generate less soot than cotton wicks, and futhermore, burn slower, producing longer-lasting burn times.
